Probe into 'shady' ANCYL deals

Sandton police have confirmed they are investigating criminal charges against ANC Youth League officials for not taking action against former managers of its investment company fingered by auditors for dubious bookkeeping and questionable financial activities.

After the DA's Jack Bloom laid nine charges, the police are investigating allegations of fraud and corruption against former managers of Lembede Investment Holdings, the youth league's financial arm.

This follows a damning report by Gobodo auditors into the financial affairs of Lembede, which found that the previous management of the company had breached the Companies Act and failed to keep financial records of deals the company entered into.
