Six bullets fired by policeman during row

A 26-year-old man was shot dead during an argument with a policeman in Henneman, in the Free State, on Thursday, said the Independent Complaints Directorate. During the heated argument, the constable allegedly drew his gun and shot the man six times in the upper body, said ICD spokesperson Moses Dlamini. The man died at the scene, he said.

An ICD investigator was sent there and found that the officer had been arrested and was being detained in the Henneman police station holding cells. He would bring a formal bail application in the Henneman Magistrate's Court on Monday. "The ICD will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is upheld in the end," said Dlamini.
